National Moot Court Competition

Since 1950, the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, in conjunction with the American College of Trial Lawyers, has sponsored the National Moot Court Competition. Each year, over 150 law schools compete in the regional rounds throughout the United States and the winners advance to the final rounds which are held at the House of the Association. This prestigious competition allows law students to argue a case in front of prominent judges and lawyers. TTU Law compete in Region X against Baylor, St. Mary’s, South Texas, Southern Methodist,
Texas Wesleyan, Univ. of Houston and Univ. of Texas.

National Moot Court Competition team, John Marshall Law School International Moot Court Competition in Information Technology and Privacy Law Moot Court team, American Bar Association National Appellate Advocacy Competition teams and Texas Young Lawyers Association State Bar Moot Court team.

Adjunct Professor Hunt has significant experience in appellate practice in which he has specialized for the last 30-plus years. He is Board Certified in Civil Appellate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and is a fellow of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers. He taught Appellate Advocacy at Texas Tech from 1974-2004, after which he has limited his involvement to coaching the national appellate advocacy teams. He was also coach of the national trial teams for 30 years.

Professor Hunt has a full-time appellate practice with the firm of Mullin Hoard & Brown, L.L.P., with offices in Lubbock, Amarillo and Dallas. Not surprisingly, his practice is limited to preparation for appeal and appeals.
